Microencapsulation technology

The most widely used fragrance infusion technique is the microencapsulation. Broadly speaking, microencapsulation provides a means of packaging, separating and storing solid and liquid materials in a microscopic scale for a later release on your own desire under controlled conditions. Essential oils are widely used in this emerging technology because they can be coated on textiles to develop odor control fabric. For example, under strictly controlled spinning process conditions, the polyethylene/ethylene-vinyl acetate blends could be melt spun into a definite diameter and well-distributed matrix fiber, which become immersion-type microcapsule fibers with good fragrance properties after absorbing essential oil. To make the fabric care product smell pleasant, microcapsules of fragrance are entrapped in the fabric using different method. When this fabric is pressed against the body of the wearer due to different postures, aromatic microcapsules break and produce fragrance.
